Store donates prom dresses for families in need

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA, PA (WCMH) — With prom season approaching, finding the right gown with the perfect silhouette is paramount.

Also daunting; finding a dress that fits within your budget.

But the ladies at Carolyn Zinni’s Bridal Salon in South Philadelphia made it real easy for Crechka Sanchez.

She no longer has to dream of what she’d wear to prom.

It’s now a reality at no cost.

“Great feeling, knowing that I’m getting this gift,” Sanchez told KYW-TV

Carolyn Zinni is donating all 89 of these gowns ahead of prom season to families who may be in need..

“I’m blessed in my personal life so I felt like I needed to do something to give back,” said Zinni.

She started the dress give away tradition at her Delaware County store about 17 years ago, before moving here to South Philadelphia.

Some might say it’s what dreams are made of.

“It really is special moment,” store employee Kim Vottero told KYW-TV

Being able to plan for a magical day one may not have otherwise thought possible.

“Being able to see somebody that can’t have what I have or what the next girl has.. and them being able to get it, you really can tear up from it,” said Vottero.
