The day he was released from jail, a Niles man was accused of exposing himself near a community-based corrections center in Warren.
Police said on Wednesday morning, three probation officers at NEOCAP reported that 60-year-old John Beeler exposed himself to a man.
The man told police that Beeler was walking down the street and appeared confused. He said he asked Beeler if he was OK, and he said Beeler told him he was just trying to get home to Niles.
He said Beeler then grabbed his arm as he tried to walk away.
When he turned around, he said he saw Beeler had pulled his pants down and had his genitals in his hand, according to a police report.
Police questioned Beeler who they said admitted to exposing himself. He told police that he had just been released from jail and “hadn’t been laid in awhile” and was “trying to get laid,” according to the report.
He was charged with public indecency and released at the scene.
Court records show that Beeler didn’t appear in court on Thursday morning, so a warrant was issued for his arrest.
According to jail records, Beeler had been incarcerated in the Trumbull County Jail on a domestic violence charge before his release on Wednesday.
