Police net woman accused of taking rare butterfly from Cincinnati’s Krohn Conservatory

CINCINNATI (WCMH) — Cincinnati Police have arrested a woman seen on surveillance cameras stealing  a rare butterfly from Krohn Conservatory.

According to WLWT, Jamie Revis, 36, was named as a suspect in the April 15 theft. She was booked into Hamilton County Jail Friday afternoon and faces a felony charge. 

Officials released surveillance video of a person they say is Revis entering the “Butterflies of Madagascar” exhibit and taking a rare Blue Morpho African Butterfly on April 15. 

The Morpho African Butterfly usually lives in places like the Amazon and Nicaragua.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to contact Cincinnati Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.
