SALT LAKE CITY, UT (KTVX) — The hunt for the person accused of murdering a 15-year-old girl while she was reportedly on the phone with her mother may be heading to Ohio.

Police say 15-year-old Baileigh Bagshaw was “violently attacked” Monday at home in Salt Lake City, Utah.

“We are unsure how the suspect arrived and left the scene, so we have part of our detectives and as well as the search and apprehension team just searching the area making sure we don’t miss any evidence that could be here,” a police spokesperson said.

They say Shaun French, 24, is a person of interest in the case. He may be driving a camouflage-colored 1991 Daihatsu Rocky with Wyoming plates 19-13974.

They say he should be considered “armed and dangerous.” Police believe French may be heading to Ohio along the I-80 corridor.
