A Struthers woman was arrested on a child endangering charge on Friday.

Officers picked up 36-year-old Staci Klazon on a warrant at her home, which they noted was “extremely unfit for any child to reside in.”

The charges stem from an incident on June 1 in which Klazon’s 1-year-old child was found unsupervised in the middle of Seventh Street.

Police said the child was wearing a diaper full of feces.

Neighbors reported that it was the third or fourth time that the child was found unsupervised or near the street, according to a police report.

Police said the mother was found inside of her home, which officers noted was full of trash and smelled of urine.

Klazon told police that she wasn’t aware that the child had gotten outside and said she put her other children  — the oldest of which was 8 — in charge of watching him, according to a police report.

Children Services, who has an open case with the family, was notified, according to a police report.

Klazon was scheduled to appear in court this week on the charges.
