The need for front license plates in Ohio is again being considered, and this time action to remove the requirement looks promising.
The legislation is part of the Ohio Transportation Bill, which was approved by the House last week.
It’s an issue that’s been considered many times before. Dealerships say the front license plate is cumbersome and newer automobiles have technology in the front bumper that makes placing a license plate there difficult. Law enforcement says the plates are needed to identify cars from the front and back.
The bill, which also includes a gas tax, is now sitting in the Senate.
