Ohio couple accused of abusing children

State News

YOUNGSTOWN, OH (WKBN) – A couple from Youngstown could appear in court next week, facing charges of abusing children.

Britany West was indicted Thursday by a Mahoning County grand jury on child endangering charges.

She was caught a few hours later by U.S. Marshals.

Her boyfriend, Kevin Peeples, was arrested in June after the young victims accused him of hurting them, but prosecutors said West then came forward herself claiming she did it.

Mahoning County Assistant Prosecutor Jennifer McLaughlin said West is charged with beating the children as well as allowing Peeples to do so.

The couple’s children, who were staying with West, were placed into the custody of Children Services.
