Murder suspect from Ohio found in West Virginia

A man who was on Ohio’s Most Wanted List is arrested in southern West Virginia.  The U.S. Marshals Service captured Gary Lamar Sander, 36, at around 6:15 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018.

Sanders was wanted by the Cleveland Police Department on an aggravated murder charge.  He is accused of killing an adult woman in February 2018.  

According to U.S. Marshals, Sanders was living at a home in Robson, WV in Fayette County.  A tip to the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) stated he had been living in the Mountain State for more than a month.

Officers with the Cops United Felony Fugitive Enforcement Division (CUFFED) Task Force in southern West Virginia made the arrest.  The task force is made up of law enforcement officers from state, local and federal agencies.

Sanders will be charged as a fugitive from justice.  He is set to be extradited to Ohio to answer the charges in Cleveland.
