Highway Patrol: Drunk semi driver crashes on I-80 in Ohio, killing passenger

Ohio News

HUBBARD TWP., OH (WKBN) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol said a woman was killed Monday evening when a drunk semi driver crashed along Interstate 80.

Investigators said the passenger, 38-year-old Michelle Morones, of Puyallup, Washington, was in the 2005 Freightliner’s sleeper berth.

Just before 6:30 p.m., 46-year-old Saint Adeogba, of Arizona, was headed eastbound on I-80 in Hubbard Township — right at the PA line. Troopers said he went off the road and hit a ditch and several trees before jack-knifing.

Adeogba wasn’t hurt.

Investigators said he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs when he crashed.

He’ll be jailed in Trumbull County on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide, possession of marijuana, open container and operating a commercial vehicle while under the influence.

Traffic was down to one lane and backed up about a mile. It has since reopened.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Highway Patrol at 330-898-2311.
