Heartbeat bill hearing continues at the Ohio Statehouse

State News

Columbus (WCMH) — Testimony was heard today involving Senate bill 23, also known as the Heartbeat Bill in front of the State House of Representatives Health Committee.

This is a bill that Ohioans are deeply divided over, given today’s testimonies.

The bill will decide whether to ban abortions as early as six weeks as proposed in the fetal heartbeat bill the Ohio Senate passed.

The bill was previous twice vetoed by former governor John Kasich.

But newly elected governor Mike DeWine promised during his campaign that he would sign a heartbeat bill.
