KENT, OH (WLWT) — Once a year, a magical festival takes over a small Ohio town.
It happens every July in Kent, a small college town about 15 miles northeast of Akron.
The Wizardly World of Kent is for muggles and magical folks alike, as the streets of the city are transformed into a Harry Potter fan’s wonderland.
There will be plenty of costumes and butterbeer. Downtown businesses and organizations will offer numerous activities, with special merchandise and themed menu items in the spirit of the event.
Hundreds of wizard and witches will convene in Kent’s downtown, and the city’s shopping epicenter – Acorn Alley – will be transformed into Diagon Alley.
Free live performances will take place throughout the day, and include acts such as “Care of Magical Creatures,” and “Magic Potion Class.”
There’s also several contest contests throughout the day, with awards going to each winner.
The free festival is happening on July 28 this year. For more information, click here.
