An Athens man has been sentenced to life without parole for murder.

William David Blair, 55, of Athens was found guilty of aggravated murder and burglary after a six day trial by jury.

Blair was found guilty of the strangulation of Mary Robinson, 71, during a burglary he was committing at her residence on Mill Street in Chauncey, Ohio.

Blair maintained his innocence throughout the trial. When given the opportunity to address the Court prior to sentencing, he once again denied killing Robinson.

Judge Patrick J. Lang sentenced Blair to life without parole for aggravated murder, consecutive to eight years on the burglary.
