BAZETTA TWP., OH (WKBN) – Bazetta Township police say an 80-year-old landlord threatened one of her tenants with a gun over a rental dispute.

Vonda Duffy was arrested on aggravated burglary charges on Monday.

Police said on August 5, Duffy went to a home she was renting on Durst Clagg Road with a gun. Once there, the victims reported that Duffy threatened to shoot everyone inside while holding the gun in her hand.

Duffy told police that she wanted the man out of the house due to multiple eviction notices, according to a police report. She said the man had not paid rent and was “tearing up the house.”

Police said Duffy also admitted to going over there with a weapon and saying, “I’d like to shoot you.”

She was advised she can’t make threats of that nature and that the tenant had until August 14 to be out of the house, per the notice, according to the police report.

Duffy told police that she didn’t realize that the threat was illegal because it was on her property, police said.
