8-year-old in stable condition after shooting in west Columbus

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — An eight-year-old is now in stable condition after a shooting on Midland Avenue in west Columbus, according to Columbus Police. The eight-year-old was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in critical condition but has been upgraded to stable condition.

A second victim has been transported to Grant Medical Center in non-life threatening condition.

Both victims are expected to recover from their injuries.

At 2:52 p.m., Columbus Police officers responded to reports of gunshots in the area of W. Broad St. and Midland Avenue. No suspect has been identified. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a light colored sedan.
