Preservation program protects family farmland for future generations

COLUMBUS (WCMH) -- The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) became the sole sponsor of the Historic Family Farm Program in 2003 to preserve the state's farmland, which decreased by nearly 7 million acres between 1950 and 2000.

The program gives landowners options through incentives to keep the prosperous agriculture and food industry growing in the state that provides more than $124 million in investment annually and employs 1 in 8 Ohioans

After another cold start in the teens to low 20s this morning following a wintry late week, things are looking up--but you will need your sunglasses!

High pressure over the Southeast will keep our weather spectacularly clear, with one of the driest air masses on record (based on upper-air observations) for February. A southwesterly flow will boost temperatures 10 degrees above normal, with readings in the upper 40s today and low 50s Sunday, and brilliant sunshine.

Crash closes left lane on I-270 North at Easton Way

COLUMBUS (WCMH) -- An accident has closed the left lane of I-270 North at Easton Way, according to the Columbus Fire Chief Steve Martin.

The Columbus Fire Department is on the scene with absorbent material to mop up gasoline and oil from the accident.
