Ross County deputy charged with OVI after off-duty crash

CHILLICOTHE, OH (WCMH) —  A Ross County Deputy has been charged with OVI after crashing his vehicle while off duty.

According to the Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Brett McKnight was involved in a crash May 1, on Trego Creek Road.

Deputies say McKnight was off duty at the time and was driving his personal vehicle.

McKnight has been charged with OVI and failure to control, and was placed on paid administrative leave by Ross County Sheriff George Lavender.

Lavender has requested the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office to conduct an investigation into the incident and the Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.What others are clicking on:
