COLUMBUS (WCMH) — In just more than three weeks, a few hundred thousand people will squeeze into downtown Columbus for Red, White and Boom.

The 36th edition of Boom! is set for July 1 and with just a few weeks left, there are still a few tweaks to the program.

Each firework is custom made for Red, White and Boom and this year welcome’s a new sponsor; Motorist Insurance Group.

Colonel Ronald Abers will featured on the Ford Oval of Honor this year.

“To be honest, I’ve never been here for Red, White and Boom. My youngest was born on the third of July, so we’re always out of town on the 4th of July, spending time with him, but this year it’s on the first so we can leave early the next morning and spend some time with him,” said Abers.
