Police rescue gosling after mama goose ‘asks’ for help

CINCINNAIT, OH (WCMH) — It seems as if even geese know that if you are in trouble, you can ask a police officer for help.

In a video posted to YouTube by Cincinnati Police Officer Sgt. James Givens, a mother goose can be seen honking nearby while a female officer helps the young gosling, that is wrapped in the string of a balloon.

Givens told WKRC, that normally the geese don’t come near people, but the mama goose continued to peck on his cruiser door.RELATED: Goose attack on 5-year-old girl goes viral

“Then it walked away and then it stopped and looked back so I followed it and it led me right over to the baby that was tangled up in all that string,” Givens said.

The female officer works for close to three minutes to free the young bird, but when she sets it loose, you can see and hear the excitement from the mother.

“Well she has a couple of kids of her own and I guess that motherly instinct must’ve kicked in because it was like they communicated. The mother goose didn’t bother her,” Given told WKRC.What others are clicking on:
