Two sobriety checkpoints are planned for Friday night in the Easton area.

The first checkpoint will happen on Morse Road east of Westerville Road from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m. Friday and the second will happen on Stelzer Road north of Easton Way between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. Saturday

According to Columbus police, the intersection of Morse and Westerville is one of five intersections along a four-mile stretch of Morse Road with an inordinate number of OVI related crashes.

Four intersections within a mile of the Stelzer Road checkpoint were identified by police as being problematic for impaired driving crashes. Seven percent of crashes at Easton Way are attributed to impaired driving and six percent at Morse Road and Morse Crossing.

Police are expected to release the results of the checkpoints early Saturday morning.
