A local kitten got the chance to live out the rest of its nine lives after being rescued by police on Tuesday.

According to the Columbus police Facebook page, several drivers reported seeing a kitten in the middle of 315 near Henderson Road, and officers were sent to the rescue.

Officer Barret along with several other officers cleared traffic while Officer Hauenstein rescued the kitten, according to the Facebook post.

Police say the fortunate feline, a six-month-old wearing a lime green collar, was taken to OSU Veterinary Hospital.

The whole rescue was caught on dash-cam video, and police say they hope to release that soon.The owner of the kitten has not been located, according to the Facebook post.
