COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A Columbus Division of Police helicopter made a precautionary landing on the city’s east side Monday evening.
The chopper landed near 2500 Park Crescent Drive near Brice Road according to police. The landing was described as “non-emergency.”
Police have determined the landing was not caused by a mechanical issue. Police are investigating.
Sgt. Rich Weiner said an emergency light came on in the cockpit; pilots are supposed to land if this light comes on.
Weiner said he is not sure if this was the same chopper that had to land twice earlier this year.
NBC4 will have more on this incident as information becomes available.
