President Trump has a fancy new set of wheels that could be right out of a James Bond movie.
A 2018 Cadillac was added to the fleet of presidential limos last week.
The limo is nicknamed “The Beast” which is the same nickname the presidential limousine had when Barack Obama was president.
The Beast weighs around 20,000 lbs. according to a NBC News report and cost $1.5 million.
The U.S. Secret Service says the new Cadillac continues its legacy of providing “state-of-the-art technology and performance to its protective mission.”
The limo has medical supplies for the president on board in case he is injured. The supplies include a refrigerator full of the president’s blood type.
The Beast has walls that are at least 8-inches thick and is sealed against biochemical attacks.
According to NBC News, it has a night-vision system and can release tear gas and also put out a smokescreen. The limo also has the capability of laying down an oil slick to make any vehicles that are chasing it lose control.
The limo can also dispatch codes to fire nuclear weapons.
On Monday, the Secret Service tweeted a photo of the vehicle — and a double — parked at the Wall Street heliport in lower Manhattan. The caption said: “The Secret Service is ready to roll into #UNGA 2018!”
The Secret Service is responsible for Trump’s personal safety.
