CHANDLER, AZ (WCMH) – A 19-year-old mother is facing a murder charge after police say she killed her four-week-old son.
According to Chandler, Arizona police, Jenna Folwell called 911 Wednesday afternoon and said her son was abducted from a park. She told police an unknown suspect put a bag over her head and took her child.
During the search for the child, police say they found Folwell’s apartment door open. Police searched the apartment and found him, dead and stuffed in a duffel bag.
Folwell’s phone was taken as evidence. Police say they found several internet searches, including, “ways to die instantly”, “missing babies cases”, types of parents who kill, sudden infant death syndrome, how long it takes babies to drown and more, KXNV reported.
Police said there were more than 100 searches on the topic.
According to police, Folwell said she took a bath and had the child in the bathtub. She allegedly said she passed out or fainted, and when she came to, the child was face-down and not breathing. Police said she then put the child in the bag and drove to the park and reported the kidnapping.
Police arrested Folwell and charged her with one count of first-degree murder.
