Worthington Kilbourne student faces felony charge after gun found in school

Local News

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A Worthington Kilbourne student is facing a felony charge after allegedly carrying a .357 Magnum revolver and ammunition to school.

According to court documents, around 10 a.m. Tuesday, the principal of another school tipped the principal of Worthington Kilbourne High School about an Instagram post that appeared to show a juvenile female holding a firearm inside the high school.

The principal recognized the student and searched her locker and belongings with the assistance of the school resource officer. No gun was found.

During the investigation, the principal and the resource officer learned the gun was being carried by 18-year-old Domonic Michael Keaton.

The resource officer searched Keaton’s backpack and found a Taurus .357 Magnum revolver and ammunition.

Police said Keaton admitted to having the gun and said he carried it to school the last two days.

Keaton was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed handgun, a fourth-degree felony. He was booked into the Franklin County jail and is expected to appear in court Wednesday.
