Woman killed when vehicle hits motorized wheelchair in east Columbus

One woman is dead after she was hit by a car while using her in her motorized wheelchair in east Columbus.

According to Columbus Police, Marc Anglin, 46, was driving west on East Livingston Avenue near Cunard Road around 9:44pm Friday. At the same time, Carolyn Childers, 61, was operating her motorized wheelchair in the middle of East Livingston Avenue. The wheelchair traveled into the oncoming path of Anglin’s vehicle, and the two collided.

Childers was transported to Grant Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead around 10:30pm. Anglin was not injured in the crash.

This is the 28th traffic-related fatality in Columbus this year.
