Woman in critical condition after shooting in Southern Orchards

A woman went to Grant Hospital in critical condition tonight after a shooting on Studer Avenue.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A woman is in critical condition after a shooting in southeast Columbus.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 8:12 p.m., Sunday, officers were called to the 1000 block of Studer Avenue on the report of a person shot.  

When officers arrived on scene, they found a 35-year-old woman sitting in her vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. 

The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.  

A passenger in the vehicle told police that they were traveling south bound on Studer Ave when a dark vehicle came up behind them on the bumper and opened fired, striking the driver in the back.  

Police say there is no suspect information at this time. 

Police continue to investigate and ask anyone with information on this shooting to call the CPD Felony Assault Unit at 614-645-4141 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-8477.
