Woman charged with killing man with phone cord at Columbus hotel

Police have charged a woman with murder after a man died three days after being choked with a phone cord at a Columbus motel.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 4:30am, Sunday, officers responded to a call at the Super 8 Motel located at 1078 E Dublin Granville Road and found Marshall Williams, 35, unresponsive with a phone cord wrapped several times around his neck.

He was transported to St. Ann’s Hospital, where he remained in critical condition until he died Wednesday; three days after the incident.

Police say that Adea Williams, 37, admitted to wrapping the cord around Marshall WIlliams’ neck. She was originally charged with felonious assault and arraigned before a Franklin County judge on Monday.

However, police say that Adea Williams has now been charged with murder and remains in Franklin County Jail awaiting arraignment on the upgraded charges.
