Missing 4-year-old Whitehall girl found safe in Indiana, suspect in custody

WHITEHALL, Ohio (WCMH) — A missing four-year-old girl has been found safe and a suspect is in custody, according to Whitehall Police.

Andrea Umana was taken from outside her Whitehall home on Wednesday by a family member without her parents’ knowledge.

Detectives were able to track the location of the family member and he was stopped by Indiana State Police Troopers on Interstate 70 near Terre Haute, Indiana.

Officers are working to reunite Andrea with her family.

The family member who kidnapped Andrea is in custody and officers are in the process of filing formal charges. His identity will be released at a later time. He has an arrest warrant from an unrelated kidnapping of another child from the State of Indiana.
