COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A Westerville man has been indicted for raping and murdering his wife after she separated from him, according to the Franklin County Prosecutor.
James Gentile, 55, faces two counts of aggravated murder, two counts of rape, and one count of tampering with evidence for the murder of his wife Dana Gentile at their home on Carousel Court June 4.
Prosecutor Ron O’Brien says in a press release that a neighbor doing yard work called 911 and told the dispatcher that Gentile had just told him that he killed his wife.
After Gentile talked to the neighbor, he reportedly fled the scene in a black Honda Accord with a temporary tag. Police were on their way to the home when they spotted the black Honda going northbound on Spring Street and stopped the vehicle, according to the press release.
O’Brien said Gentile faces multiple murder charges “because there are different methods to commit the crime of murder and the Prosecutor’s Office typically charges all methods.”
