Video shows late night brawl at Easton movie theater

Local News

A Facebook video shared more than 2,000 times shows six to 10 people punching, kicking, and pulling each other’s hair inside of the AMC Easton Town Center 30 movie theater.

Columbus Police said the fight happened just after 1am Saturday. Police say fights there are not an unusual occurrence.

The video shows chaos in the hall outside theater doors.

Easton said an officer was working special duty for the theater at the time of the incident. A disorderly conduct police report obtained by NBC4 states the officer responded after being, “alerted by management that a fight was possibly about to break out.” No one was arrested.

We spoke with a man named Reggie who was surprised it happened.

“All these kids have nothing to do you know,” he said.

He thinks security is doing its best.

“I feel like they’re going to at least figure out a solution to the problem that they’re having right now with all the kids fighting.”

Gaby Poliseno shops at Easton Town Center often.

“It bothers me but I don’t really understand what else they could do because there’s security crawling all over,” she said.

She said she doesn’t shop alone at night anymore.

“It’s something that definitely deters me from going there and shopping especially as a young woman you don’t want to go there by yourself,” she said.

We reached out to Easton Town Center for comment. It said because the incident happened inside the theater and not the mall, we had to contact the theater. We reached out to the theater and it referred us to its corporate office. We contacted that office and didn’t hear back by the time we reported this story.
