UPDATE: As of 8:40 p.m. Sunday afternoon, OHGO is reporting the roadway has reopened.

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A vehicle fire has shut down lanes of I-270 East on the north side of Columbus.

According to Columbus Fire Battalion Chief Steve Martin, a three-vehicle crash led to the car catching on fire.

According to OHGO, the three right lanes on I-270 East beyond US-23 are blocked as of 4:07 p.m. Sunday.

Drivers are encouraged to fine an alternate route.

According to Columbus Police, one person was treated for injuries at the scene.

There is no estimate as to how long the lanes will remain blocked.
