FRANKLIN COUNTY, OH (WCMH) — Local law enforcement, along with Uber and Lyft are offering discounted rides to people who plan on drinking on St. Patrick’s Day.

According to a release from Lyft, the ride share company is partnering with the Central Ohio Safe Ride Program and the city of Dublin to offer $6,500 in free ride credits to provide transportation to, from and around Dublin and Columbus from March 14  to March 19, 2019.

The offer provides $10 off one ride to 450 riders.

Additionally, Fado Pub & Kitchen in Easton and Byrnes Irish Pub are both providing customers with $10 off one Lyft ride. Promo codes can be found on each partner’s social media channels.

To redeem the codes, open the Lyft app. Then, tap on your profile image (upper left corner), followed by “promos.” Enter the promo code to ride smart.

The Franklin County DUI Taskforce is also hoping to curb drinking and driving on St. Patrick’s Day by teaming up with Fado Pub and Central Ohio Safe Ride to offer Uber discount codes and taxi vouchers.

Patrons may pick up taxi vouchers in advance from either Fado or Byrne’s Pub starting March 16, 2019.

The Franklin County DUI Taskforce states there will also be upcoming sobriety checkpoints and saturation points for St. Patrick’s Day, but the locations have not been announced yet.
