Two people killed in Madison County crash

MADISON COUNTY, OH (WCMH) — Troopers are investigating a crash in Madison County that left two people dead.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at about 11:39pm, Monday, a maroon 2008 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling northbound on State Route 56 near Morrman Road at a high rate of speed, when it traveled off the left side of the roadway. 

The vehicle then struck a utility pole and a tree, causing two occupants of the vehicle to be ejected.

Both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene. 

The identifications of the victims have not been released pending the notification of the next of kin. 

Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
