FAIRFIELD COUNTY, OH (WCMH) — Troopers are investigating a crash in Fairfield County that left two people dead.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at about 10:30pm, Sunday, troopers were called to the Basil Western Road on the report of a two vehicle crash.
Troopers say a gray 2017 Chevrolet Impala was traveling eastbound on Basil Western Road when it struck from behind a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado, that was also traveling eastbound.
The Impala then drove off the left side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting two of its occupants.
Kenneith A. Kessler, 28, of Carroll, and Kyle J. Thompson, 27, of Fort Myers, Florida were both ejected and were pronounced dead at the scene.
A third occupant of the Impala, Brandon R. Boggs, 26, of Pickerington, was taken to Grant Medical Center in stable condition.
Troopers say none of the occupants of the Impala were wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Silverado was not injured in the crash, and was wearing her seat belt at the time.
Troopers continue to investigate and say that alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
