Two missing children found, Columbus police say.

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus police say two children who were missing this morning have been found.

According to Columbus police, two-year-old Ja’Niyah Baldwin and her brother, 12-year-old Deshane Freeman were discovered missing Thursday morning. They were last seen around 10:45am Thursday in the area of Courtright Road and Petzinger Road.

Police said the two had just been placed in foster care the night before. Police released a statement Thursday evening, saying both children had been found alive.

Patrol officers on Thursday searched the area along with a helicopter but did not find the children.

Deshane Freeman is described as a black male standing 4’7″ and weighing 88 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black North Face jacket, a graphic t-shirt, jeans and black & white sneakers.

No photo of Freeman was released.

Ja’Niyah was last seen wearing a purple shirt, Light blue denim jacket, Mickey Mouse pants and blue snow boots.

Police did not release information about where the children were or how they were found.
