Two injured in shooting at birthday party in northeast Columbus

Two people are hospitalized after an early morning shooting in northeast Columbus.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, the shooting happened just before 5:09am on the 1500 block of Windsor Avenue. Police say one of the victims was dropped off by an unknown person at Riverside Methodist Hospital with a gunshot wound to the lower body. The second victim was taken to Grant Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the foot.

Police have identified the victims as Miller Lewis, 25, and Marques Slade, 28. Both victims told officers they were at a private facility on Windsor Avenue for a birthday party when gunshots were fired.

Investigators do not have any information about a possible suspect at this time. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact the Columbus Police Assault Unit at 614-645-4141 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS(8477).
