HILLIARD, OH (WCMH) – Two people were stabbed inside a home on the 5200-block of Frisco Drive around 10:30am on Tuesday.
Columbus Police responded to find two people hurt, both were taken to Grant Hospital in critical condition.
One of the victims called 911 from inside the house saying he and his sister had been attacked by a man who broke in.
OPERATOR: “Who attacked you?”
CALLER: “A man. An African-American man.”
CALLER: “I’m not sure what kind of a man he was.”
The 911 operator asks how the man got in and the caller said he’s not sure, possibly through the back door.
OPERATOR: “Okay, did he hurt you?”
CALLER: “Yes, I have a stabbing gash. I’m bleeding everywhere.”
The caller said he’s unsure whether the man took anything from the house, maybe a computer and that the attacker stabbed them with a knife.
Columbus Police said both victims are adults who were stabbed multiple times.
Neighbor Jenny Moore was at work when it happened.
“You just don’t think of it happening, so it does kind of put you on edge when you see this just because we’ve never really had anything like this happen,” said Moore. “I hope that it was internal and that it wasn’t an outside person.”
Columbus Police searched the vehicles outside the house and said they’re still trying to determine if and where a break-in happened and who did it.
“We’ve lived here over 10 years and knock-on-wood there’s never been any instances and it’s always been a good neighborhood, so I’ve always felt really safe here and I still do even though this happened,” said Moore. “I just wish the people well and I hope that they recover.”
Columbus Police said the woman was in worse condition than the man and needed to have surgery.
