COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Two guns were found over the last two days at Columbus City Schools buildings.

According to Columbus police, a gun was found on February 13 at Duxberry Park Alternative School.

A student told staff that another student had a gun. Staff found the gun in a bathroom and secured it until police arrived.

The suspect, a nine-year-old boy, told police he found the 9mm Walther PPS at home. He was not charged due to his age.

On February 14, a 17-year-old Northland High School student said another student gave him a gun to hold and put in his locker. A teacher overheard the conversation and contacted the school resource officer, according to police.

The officer confiscated the loaded 380 Cobra.
