Troopers identify semi driver killed in crash on US 37 in Delaware Co.

DELAWARE COUNTY (WCMH)– One person has died after a semi-truck carrying eggs crashed on State Route 37 in Delaware County.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, at about 7:07am, Monday, troopers were called to SR 37, east of Brindle Road, on the report of a crash involving a semi-truck.

Troopers say Glen G. Buettner, 68, of Bellefontaine, was driving a white 2007 Freightliner carrying eggs, westbound on SR 37, when the truck failed to negotiate a curve.

The truck then traveled off the roadway, overturned onto its right side, and struck a utility pole. Several loads of eggs could be seen scattered in the yard of a home near the site of the crash.

Buettner was pronounced dead at the scene.

Troopers continue to investigate, but say alcohol and drugs are not a suspected factor in the crash.
