Monday, tensions were high at a special Columbus City Schools Board of Education meeting.

This comes as the board restarts its search for the new superintendent after the first search came under scrutiny by the Ohio Auditor.

The meeting turned to yelling as the board discussed trying to find a firm to help mediate the new search and select outside legal counsel.

Based upon the discussion tonight, the board will be working with facilitators to choose the search firm that is going to help us in the second search. And that will determine how or if we are able to recoup any of the funds that we spent on the first search,” said board President Gary Baker.

Baker said the board will meet again April 30 to further discuss plans.
