Teen killed in northeast Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A teenager was killed and two men injured after a shooting in northeast Columbus.

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 1:30am, Friday, officers were called to the 4000 block of Chesford Road on the report of a male lying in the road. 

When officers arrived on scene, they found 17-year-old Javon Tyrese Carson suffering from a gunshot wound.

Carson was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital where he later died from his injury.

A short while later, at about 1:37am, Fahad Mohamed Moalim, 20, arrived at St. Ann’s Hospital with a gunshot wound to his face.

Then at 4:15am, another gunshot victim, Abdisalan Ahmed Shire, 29, arrived at St. Ann’s Hospital with a wound to his hand. 

Police say both are related to the earlier shooting on Chesford Road.

The circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation however, and all available parties are being questioned to their involvement, police say.

No charges have been filed at this time.
