Teen in critical condition after west Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — Columbus police are investigating a shooting that left a teen in critical condition. 

According to the Columbus Division of Police, at about 1:35 a.m., Tuesday, officers were called to the 1800 block of Vaughn Street on the report of a shooting. 

When officers arrived on scene, they found an 18-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck.  

A witness, who was inside the home at the time, told police they heard the gunshot and looked into the room to see the 17-year-old known suspect. 

Police say the suspect ran from the scene after telling the witness he had shot the victim.  

The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.  

Police continue to investigate the shooting and ask anyone with information to call the CPD
