COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A teen has been charged after deputies say he threatened gun violence at Finland Middle School.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, on Monday, several parents of students at Finland Middle School contacted deputies about a social media post from an unidentified person who was making gun violence threats against the school.

When the school was notified, officials with the South-Western City Schools District canceled classes for the day.

After investigating, detectives say they identified a 14-year-old current student of the school as the suspect.

After questioning the student, he was charged with felony inciting panic, and transported to the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center.
