Swift police response leads to arrest in Marysville pharmacy armed robbery

A swift response from Marysville Police officers on Wednesday led to an arrest of an armed robbery suspect at a pharmacy.

On October 3 at approximately 9:59am, the Marysville Division of Police received a report of a robbery in progress at CVS Pharmacy located at 969 W. 5th Street in Marysville.

According to police, the caller stated that a male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and a purple bandanna covering his face entered the store and approached the pharmacy counter. He implied he had a weapon and demanded a specific prescription drug.

Police reports indicate that officers arrived at the location within a minute and located the suspect still inside the store where he was taken into custody without incident. 

Investigators say that the suspect had a .380 semi-automatic handgun in his front waistband and a .22 revolver in his rear waistband. His vehicle was located a short distance away and seized.

The suspect, identified as Ian John Keller, 24, of Woodstock, Ohio, was arrested and charged with Robbery, a 2nd degree felony. According to police, he may face additional charges.

According to court records, Keller is scheduled to be arraigned in Marysville Municipal Court on Thursday, October 4 at 8am.
