COLUMBUS (WCMH) – The few diehard Buckeyes who remained after a long day greeted Ohio State head Coach Urban Meyer as he left the Longaberger Alumni House Wednesday night.
After a long day of waiting to learn of his three-game suspension and addressing the media inside, Meyer drove off.
Moments later, Athletic Director Gene Smith left the same back exit, stopping momentarily to share his thoughts on his suspension.
“I support it 100 percent,” said Smith.
Reaction among students gathered outside was mixed.
“You know, I think they made an appropriate decision in the best interest of Ohio State,” said one student.
“I think 3 games was a little rough. I’d like to see 1 or 2. I’m just in full support of Urban, full support of the school. I want Urban back and better,” said Sean Schieferstein.
