Passengers flying out of John Glenn International in Columbus between 10:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m on Saturday need to arrive at least two hours before their flight.

Airport access will be limited during that time for safety reasons as a helicopter replaces two 6,000-pound air conditioning units on the roof of the terminal.

Areas of the airport that will be impacted are:

  •          International Gateway
  •          Parking garage
  •          Rental car return
  •          Ticket lobby
  •          Curbside arrivals and departures

Motorists dropping off or picking up passengers during a temporary closure of International Gateway will be redirected to a staging area in the Cell Phone Waiting Lot, where shuttles will be available to transport passengers to/from the terminal, airport officials said.

Airport staff will provide directions and assistance to passengers and others.

The work at the airport depends on the weather, officials said.
