UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio (WCMH) — The Upper Arlington Council on aging partners with the city’s fire department to bring “snow angels.”
Volunteers will go out and shovel snow for elderly residents, or people who are unable, because of health conditions.
The program is in its third year and is only for Upper Arlington resident and volunteers.
“It’s our grass roots organic way to help people in need with residents who want to help,” said CARES manager Christine Leyshon. “We typically think of older adults, but it’s for anyone with health conditions or people who consider themselves not healthy enough to do that.”
To sign up to volunteer, you can call 614-583-5123. Should no one answer the phone follow the instructions and leave a message. If you need a volunteer to clear your drive, call the same number.
“We want to prevent injuries like falling, heart attacks, or just being out in the cold when the don’t have to,” said Leyshon.
