ZANESVILLE, OH (WCMH) — A small plane crashed in a cornfield near the Zanesville airport on Thursday, according to NBC affiliate WHIZ-TV.
WHIZ reporter Keely Lovern says the plane went down in a cornfield near Northfield and Sonora Road, north of the airport.
The pilot, 24-year-old Jacob Havens of Findlay, told NBC4 he only walked away with a few scratches but said the plane is totally destroyed.
The plane is registered out of Findlay, Ohio and it is a model built from a kit, according to the FAA.
