Shooting in east Columbus leaves one person in critical condition

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — A man was hospitalized after a shooting in east Columbus Wednesday morning. 

According to Columbus police, at about 4:22 a.m., officers were called to the 90 block of Broadland Lane on the report of a shooting.  

Police said the victim, a 21-year-old man, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his back, extremities, and abdomen.

A witness told police the shooting happened during an argument over money.

The man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, and is expected to survive his injuries.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for 46-year-old Fredrick Akins Sr., of the 2000 block of New Village Road in Columbus, in connection with the incident.
