Sheriff’s office identifies motorcyclist killed in crash along I-270

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has identified a Columbus man killed in a motorcycle crash on I-270. 

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, one person was killed in a crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle Thursday on I-270 southbound near I-670 on the east side of Columbus. 

According to the sheriff’s office, the driver of a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R600 motorcycle was traveling south on I-270, changed lanes and struck the rear of a 2004 Honda CRV around 7:33am. 

The operator of the motorcycle, 27-year-old Daniel Jones-Quartey, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the CRV was not injured. The FCSO says Jones-Quartey was wearing a helmet and the driver of the CRV was wearing a seat belt. 

I-270 was closed for several hours during the investigation.
